Psoriasis Laser

After successfully treating hundreds of psoriasis patients with the Excimer laser, Lehigh Valley Dermatology is proud to announce the addition of the next generation of this device, the PHAROS EX-308.
The Pharos is a high powered and versatile excimer laser designed to treat psoriasis, vitiligo, atopic dermatitis, and leukoderma.

The EX-308 excimer laser creates a concentrated, but painless, beam of ultraviolet light that is delivered to psoriatic lesions through a handpiece. By targeting only active lesions and limiting exposure to healthy skin, the laser delivers high-dose treatment for fast clearing and long remission.

The laser is ideal for treating mild to moderate psoriasis. Traditionally hard-to-treat areas such as knees, elbows, and scalp are easily treated, thanks to the laser’s aiming beam and adjustable spot size handpiece. The targeted high-dose therapy can treat stubborn plaques, even those that have not responded to other treatments.

For patients who have failed traditional psoriasis treatments, laser is often the last hope. A customized series of treatments are painless and take only a few minutes, twice a week, for a few weeks. Many insurance companies cover the laser treatment, but coverage levels will vary by plan. Please ask us about yours.

Additionally, Dr. David B. Vasily serves as a luminary to the company that makes this device and has contributed scientific data that has helped optimize these treatments.
